pistol I (fundamentals)

This is your pistol fundamentals course. Topics include:

  • Pistol Action & Handling

  • Muzzle Management

  • Trigger Finger Discipline

  • Loading & Unloading

  • Workspace

  • Vision Principles

  • Grip Principles

  • Trigger Control

Training Duration: (8) Hours.

Required gear: semi-auto pistol, OWB holster, at least (2) magazines, at least (1) magazine holder/pouch, ear & eye protection, durable outer wear, rain jacket, lunch, and water.

pistol II (manipulations)

This is your pistol manipulations course. It’s recommended - but not required - students complete Pistol I (or an equivalent elsewhere) prior to taking this course. Topics include:

  • Working from a Holster

  • The Draw-Stroke

  • Reloads (Can v. Must)

  • Recognizing Stoppages

  • Fixing Stoppages

  • “2-in-2” Draw-Stroke Standard

Training Duration: (8) Hours.

Required gear: semi-auto pistol, OWB holster, at least (3) magazines, at least (2) magazine holders, ear & eye protection, durable outer wear, rain jacket, lunch, and water.

pistol III (performance)

This is your pistol performance course. It’s recommended - but not required - students complete Pistol II (or an equivalent elsewhere) prior to taking this course. Topics include:

  • Predictive v. Reactive Shooting

  • Trigger Exploration & Reset

  • Sight Picture Spectrum

  • Multiple Targets

  • Self Diagnoses: Why We Miss

concealed carry Pistol Applications

This is your concealed carry pistol mobility, protection, and police notification course. It’s recommended - but not required - students complete Concealed Carry Pistol Fundamentals (or its equivalent elsewhere) prior to taking this course. Topics include:

  • The Decision Point

  • One-Handed Shooting

  • Shooting While Moving

  • Basic Human Protection

  • Loading & Utilizing Cover

  • Positional Shooting

  • Controlling the Post-Force Scene

  • Notifying Police

Training Duration: (8) Hours.

Required gear: cell phone, semi-auto pistol, IWB holster, at least (2) magazines, at least (1) magazine holder, ear & eye protection, durable outer wear, rain jacket, lunch, and water.

Pistol capstone

This is your pistol assessment course. The Pistol Capstone measures the shooter’s ability to apply pistol fundamentals against our pistol standards.

This Capstone tests and ultimately develops the following shooting-related skills:

  • Vision

  • Grip

  • Managing Recoil

  • Drawing the Pistol

  • Manipulating the Pistol

  • Running with the Pistol

  • Moving to Shoot

  • Shooting While Moving

Schedule:

  • Day 1 Morning: Pre-Assessment

  • Day 1 Afternoon: Training Session I

  • Day 2 Morning: Training Session II

  • Day 2 Afternoon: Final Assessment

Training Duration: (16) Hours.

Required gear: semi-auto pistol, IWB or OWB holster, at least (3) magazines, at least (2) magazine holders, ear & eye protection, durable outer wear, rain jacket, lunch, and water.

Red dot pistol

This is your red dot sight employment fundamentals course. Students must arrive with the ability to manage their muzzles safely. Topics include:

  • Zeroing Considerations

  • Manufacturer Considerations

  • Iron Sight Considerations

  • Open v. Closed Emitters

  • Vision Principles

  • Riding the Dominant Eye

  • Grip Principles

  • Acquiring the Dot

  • Building Consistency

  • The Draw-Stroke

  • The Dot as a Shooting Diagnostic

  • Downed Optic Alternatives

Training Duration: (8) Hours.

Required gear: semi-auto pistol w/ RDS or MRDS, IWB or OWB holster, at least (3) magazines, at least (2) magazine holders, ear & eye protection, durable outer wear, rain jacket, lunch, and water.
